Long Branch Bicyclist, 55, Killed In Crash Near West Long Branch Intersection: Prosecutors

A Long Branch man died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in West Long Branch, authorities said.

The 55-year-old man was killed in the crash on Saturday, Nov. 30, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. West Long Branch police responded to the crash near the intersection of Route 36 and Monmouth Road shortly after 9 p.m.

Officers found the unnamed man and paramedics rushed him to Monmouth Medical Center. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Long Branch hospital.

An 18-year-old Tinton Falls man drove the 2018 Range Rover involved in the crash. He wasn't injured, remained at the scene, and was cooperating with the investigation.

No charges or summonses have been issued as of Monday, Dec. 2.
